Katya is a tiny little lady of 66 who has dedicated her life for more than 30 years to the dogs that people abandon in front of her 'shelter.' Her husband passed away 11 years ago, and she is now nearly single handedly taking care of 300 dogs, aided by a person who comes for several hours each day to clean, help feed the dogs, etc. Her property is by no means large, and its facilities would not satisfy international norms, but at least offers a safe haven for the dogs while they wait for a loving home. Some of Katya's dogs have been lucky enough to have been adopted in Germany, Austria, and France, thanks to the intervention of dedicated people who work with Katya.

NOTE: Below are the costs for exporting a dog into the European Union:

--microchip and rabies vaccination (6 euros);

--vaccination and revaccinations for infectious diseases (8 euros);

--blood test for antibodies against rabies (55 euros); this test is obligatory for entry into the European Union.

The total cost to prepare a dog for entry into the European Union comes to 69 euros.

The cost for spaying a female dog is 30 euros.

Katya est un petit bout de femme de 66 ans qui dédie sa vie depuis plus de 30 ans aux chiens que les gens abandonnent à la porte de son « refuge ». Son mari est mort il y a 11 ans et depuis elle s’occupe seule de ses 300 chiens, avec l’aide d’une personne qui vient quelques heures par jour pour nettoyer le refuge, répartir la nourriture dans les gamelles, etc. Le terrain sur lequel se trouve le refuge n’est pas grand. Il est loin de satisfaire aux normes internationales mais il offre à ces chiens un havre de relative sécurité en attendant qu’ils soient adoptés dans une bonne maison. Les chiens de Katya ont en effet une chance de se faire adopter en Allemagne, en Autriche ou en France grâce à des personnes qui se dévouent pour eux aux côtés de Katya.

À noter: Voici les frais pour l'export dans l'Union Européenne:
